Welcome to your new classroom. This blog will serve as the epicenter of operations for 9th Honors Lit/Comp until we return to room 306.
Every day, it is your responsibility to check the blog to see what you need to do for the day.
Here is the link to the No Fear Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet online with the side-by-side original text and modern translation: CLICK HERE
If you were not able to take the assessment on Friday covering Acts 1 & 2, the alternative written assessment can be downloaded on the 9th Resources tab, right at the top.
Monday - Writer's Notebook: "Friar Lawrence is introduced in Act 2 Scene 3 talking about the ‘two opposed camps’ that are in every living thing—good and evil. Everything in life, he says, can be good or bad, depending on how it is used. Do you agree? Give an example from the play and one from your life. Consider your own good and “evil” decisions."
Tuesday - Review vocab words at vocab.com for the first 10 minutes of class.
Wednesday - Writer's Notebook: "Shakespeare never tells us what the original cause was for the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets. Come up with an origin story or prequel to the play. Why did the first Montague and Capulet go to war with the other? Be as creative or outlandish as you can be."
Thursday - Use vocab.com to study for Vocab Quiz tomorrow
Friday - Writer's Notebook: "Friday Freewrite!!!"

- Give yourself around the hour you would have had on Friday. This is not something I want you to spend hours and hours on.
- It is due to turnitin.com by 3:30 on Tuesday, so you can complete it today or tomorrow. Class ID: 24094838; Enrollment Key: Holman

- While we are out of the classroom, the Writer's Notebook is going to be on a Google Doc:
- Open a new document with the document name: "Notebook - first and last name" (e.g. - "Notebook - John Smith").
- Share it with me at [email protected]. You only need to do this once.
- Each entry should begin with the date and then copy and paste the prompt from the blog.
- Your response should be at least 200 words for full credit (about a half page double spaced). This should only take you about 8-10 minutes.
- At the end of your response, hit Control Enter. This starts a new page in the document for your next entry.
